Virtual PIA

FAQ's
Who are we?
Virtual PIA is a virtual airline - a place where flight simulator enthusiasts from around the world gather to operate virtual flights throught their simulators.

Whats the point of Virtual Pakistan International Airlines?
Virtual Pakistan International Airlines simulated Pakistan International Airlines. Our point is to create a place where flight simulator enthusiasts interested in Pakistan and PIA can get together and operate virtual flights, just as they would if they were working for a real airline.

Why joining Virtual PIA?
Here are a few reasons why you might want to join Virtual PIA:
1)We are Pakistan's first regular virtual airline.
2)We are the only virtual airline to operate Pakistan International Airlines' real  world fleet in its real world livery.
3)We support both online and offline flying.
4)We use the software FSACARS for easy logging.
5)We assign no more than 6 monthly flights except on request.
6)We allow you to use upto 16X simulation rates during cruise.
7)We provide airport charts for major airports .
8)Like real world airlines, we publish your entire assignments for a month at one time so you know where you will be headed to and on what days.
9)We cover real world events like Umrah and Hajj.
10)We hold special events for new aircraft delivery flights.

What do I need to be a virtual pilot? Are there any special requirements?
You only need Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002, 2004 or FSX and a little experience with it. You must be familiar with its settings and flying procedures.

How do I fly for Virtual PIA?
Once you join, you are given a pilot number and a password, with the use of which you can access our pilots section. There, you can find your assignments - they are the flights you have been assigned - with all side details provided. Before you get into the action, you also need to download your relevant PIA aircraft - that is the aircraft you are authorised to fly according to our ranking system, and FSACARS for loggin your flight. Once that is done, you normally fly a flight using your PIA aircraft, and FSACARS records all the required data which is then sent to our site and automatically added as flying time against your name in the pilot roster.

How do I get PIA aircraft in my simulator?
You simply download the aircraft of your choice from our website, though an aircraft downloaded from an external source in PIA colours may also be used.

How does the ranking system work?
Your rank increases with the number of hours you virtually fly.  Full details of the rankings are given here
